Cala’n Bosch

Calan Bosch is one of the larger resorts on the island, and caters mostly for families and couples. It’s set around the pretty marina area giving it a real Riviera feel. There are two stunning beaches with the clearest turquoise waters and soft pale sand. Everything you need for a great holiday in one place!

It’s 50km from Mahon airport and takes around 50 minutes to get to by car.

It’s 10km from the old capital, Ciutadella.

Beaches:

There are 2 beaches in the resort.

Calan Bosch beach is just next to the marina. It’s a medium sized cove, very sheltered and shallow with pale soft sand. The clear turquoise water is just beautiful! On the beach you can hire pedalos, sun loungers and parasols. There’s a cafe bar right next to the beach that serves food, drinks, snacks, ice creams etc..

Son Xoriguer beach is just 700m along from Calan Bosch beach. It’s a long and narrow beach with lots of little ‘mini beaches’ leading along to it…some of them just big enough for a family or couple!  The main part of Son Xoriguer beach offers watersports and motor boat hire. Restaurants & Bars:

The restaurants and bars are mostly situated around the marina area, which makes for some lovely views as you enjoy your meal or cocktails! There are lots of different types of restaurants in the resort, including fish restaurants, pizzerias, steak house, Mexican, Spanish, Tapas bar etc -something to suit all tastes. The bars open late but the night life in the resort is not wild by any stretch of the imagination as it’s primarily a family resort..

There’s a small cluster of bars, shops and restaurants in the Cap d’Artruxt area which is just 5 minutes walk from all of the Calan Bosch villas..

Waterpark & Go-Karts:

.Boat trips:

Boat trips are a fantastic way to see the beautiful island. Available from the marina they go to several of the virgin beaches, including those that can’t be accessed by road. The half day trips are good value and a great way to see a few of the islands stunning beaches! You can see more info on them HERE.

Boat hire: 

It’s possible to hire a small motor boat from the kiosk at the marina or from the surf n sail kiosk on Son Xoriguer beach. No licence is necessary. You can explore all the hidden coves along the West coast under your own steam. It costs from around 110€ per half day..

Lighthouse:

A beautiful lighthouse sits on the jagged rocks at the Cap d’Atruxt. It’s recently been turned into a lovely restaurant and bar. The views are just stunning from the bar terrace..

Land Train:

The land train runs all around the resort at regular intervals during the day. Depending on the time of day and how long you stay on the cost is around 5€ – 7€ It’s a great way to get your bearings and see other parts of the resort..

Bus links:

It’s very easy to travel by public bus in Menorca. You can get the bus from Calan Bosch to Ciutadella, it goes via Cala Blanca, Santandria and Sa Caleta. It takes around half an hour to Ciutadella. Some services then carry on through from Ciutdella to Calan Forcat. The buses run every 20-30 minutes during the day, and run up until around midnight. be careful to check the times as the frequency reduces during siesta times. you can find the bus times at all the bus stops in the resort.
