Cala’n Forcat / Calan Blanes

Calan Forcat and Calan Blanes make up one large resort on the west coast of Menorca. Other names associated with this area are Los Delfines, Calan Bruc and Calas Piques. These names refer to small areas or particular beaches within the resort. It’s all within walking distance.

It’s a large family resort with lots to do, but still retaining the relaxing  feel that Menorca is loved for. It has several small coves and inlets providing some of  natures most stunning swimming pools!

The resort is situated just 3.5km from the stunning town of Ciutadella, which is a short bus ride away, or a lovely 40 minute stroll along the coastal path -perfect at dusk!

Beaches

Calan Blanes Beach is sandy cove with very shallow, clear sea. The pine woods behind offer a lovely shaded picnic area.  There are a couple of beach bars to enjoy something cold while you bask in the sun!

Calan Forcat Beach is a small but perfectly formed little inlet, branching off into 3 smaller inlets. With barely a ripple in the water and lovely clear sea it’s a great spot for snorkelling. There are little bridges and stone paths leading in and around the inlet, making it fun to explore for children and very picturesque.

Calas Piques Beach is another small inlet of clear, shallow sea.  The coves in the resort are all very suitable for young children due to there being no waves. There’s a small beach bar open at peak times in the season.

Calan Bruc Platforms are a unique area that’s well worth a visit. Calan Bruc cove is not a sandy cove but has diving and sunbathing platforms cut away into the rocks, there are easy access points in and out of the water. It’s a  snorkellers heaven as you can feed the fish from your hands! The platforms are at all different levels so at certain times of the year you can see the local teens outdoing each other with spectacular cliff diving displays. You can see a few of them here

Restaurants and Bars

There are lots of restaurants and bars to choose from, serving all kinds of  food and drinks. A personal favourite is Haiti’s, which is on the ‘dancing man’ roundabout, directly opposite Bianco’s restaurant -also a great one to visit.  Both offer a fun kids menu and a great range of good quality food. The restaurants are generally very child friendly, and many of the bars have bouncy castles and play areas. There’s a great choice of night life but nothing too wild, meaning this resort remains a family favourite.
